Term 3 Week 1

Start of Term 3 image

Dear parent and caregivers,

I am writing to provide some further clarity regarding COVID-19 requirements for the start of school next week Tuesday,13 July. We are approaching this online learning period slightly differently to last year due to the finite nature of it (4 days at this stage).

The latest news for NSW appears that tighter restrictions are now currently in place for the greater Sydney area and Central Coast will continue until 16 July.

In the meantime, a reminder of the following requirements in our school:

General health requirement from NSW Health:

Parents and caregivers are reminded that students must not attend school if they are unwell, even with the mildest of symptoms. Students must return a negative COVID-19 test and be symptom-free prior to returning to school.

Visitors to the school:

Visitors to the school are not permitted. If you require a meeting, please contact us and we will arrange a phone meeting.

Masks and social distancing:

To keep everyone safe, NSW Health have asked all students in Yr 7 and above to wear a mask. We are more than happy to discuss individual circumstances where this may be difficult.

Every effort will be made to ensure that classrooms are ventilated.

All staff will be required to wear masks when indoors.

Hygiene:

Hand sanitiser will be readily available in all classrooms. Additional cleaning of the school will continue. The bubblers will be closed until further notice.

External Providers:

We do have a number of external providers who often connect with our school, however we are currently unable to have any external providers onsite.

School Organisation for Week 1:

Monday 12th July - School Development Day - some staff working from home participating in online professional learning & zoom meetings - no student supervision will be provided. Minimal staff onsite preparing online programs for the week ahead.

Tuesday 13th July - Friday 16th July – the school is open ONLY to students & families who need it as essential workers - minimal staff supervision will be provided in a roster system each day.

One unit of learning will be provided to students whether they be at school or working from home.

Learning from Home:

Class teachers not onsite that day will touch base with students each morning via Google classroom and explain the expectations for the day ahead. If you need support with technology, please contact us on Monday.

Our focus is on the safety of our school community, so thank you for everything that you have been doing to support us during the period of this pandemic.
